EQUIPMENT
Utilizing cutting edge equipment to mold premium quality products.
Liberty Plastics machine capabilities cover a range from 88-ton to 390-ton clamping forces and shot size capabilities up to 37.5 ounces. Liberty Plastics is one of the very few plastic injection molders in Michigan to utilize all-electric injection molding machines. All-electric molding machines provide a much better solution for plastic injection needs than hydraulic injection molding systems. It is proven that they use drastically less energy and provide precise cycles that are faster and more reliable than hydraulic molding machines.
BENEFITS OF USING ALL-ELECTRIC MOLDING MACHINES
All-electric molding machines create faster and more efficient cycle times because of the independent clamp/injection functions. Electric machines allow the user to have precise control over the shot size, therefore reducing the amount of resin, colorant and additives used in the production process. Having precise control over the shot size allows for molders to inject to fill, creating a complete part that is free of flash or porosity.
All-electric machines create a more predictable production process. With a more reliable machine, the same procedure setup can be utilized repeatedly, without influencing part consistency or quality. Electric molding machines are controlled digitally therefore eliminating in mold stress and over packing.
Since electric molding machines are digitally operated and mechanically driven they provide better accuracy, repeatability and consistency. Unlike hydraulic molding machines, all-electric molding machines do not have hoses to expand, values to potentially stick or oil to heat up or compress. Thus creating a more consistent and accurate cycle. Once a process is in place, the machine is able to produce high quality parts within the first few shots.
Based on research, it is proven that electric molding machines use 50%-80% less power than hydraulic molding machines. The installation for the electrical supply and power requirements are only a fraction of the costs involved in setting up a hydraulic system.
Electric molding machines do not require any hydraulic oil changes, filtration, or disposition. This helps to create an environment that is cleaner, quieter and more efficient for employees to work. This also reduces the risk of contamination of products, resins or the environment.
Electric machines provide quicker start up to production since there is no waiting for oil temps to stabilize or heat up. In addition there is a great reduction in down time that can be caused by oil leaks, planned maintenance and equipment failure, found with hydraulic systems. This helps to ensure a more efficient and stable production process, with fewer rejects.
